There
was a point in history when the production of steel by a country solely
determined the development of a country. Even though it would be an exaggeration
to say that is the case right now, steel still has paramount importance.
It
is used widely in the construction of roads, railways, other infrastructures,
appliances, and buildings. Most large modern structures, such as stadiums and
skyscrapers, bridges, and airports, are supported by a steel skeleton.
